& Pain Reprocessing Therapy Program
If you're living with migraine or any type of headache disorder, you may have tried everything from medication to mindset shifts, yet still feel stuck. This program is for you!
Over 12 weeks, we'll explore how mindfulness and Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) can help you better understand your pain, respond with self-compassion, and gently retrain your brain to feel safe in your body again (or perhaps for the first time!).
What you'll learn:
How to calm your nervous system using mindfulness-based tools
How pain is processed in the brain and how it can change
How migraine and headache impact the body and that you're not alone!
How to reduce fear and frustration around pain and dysfunction
How do build emotional resilience and reconnect with daily life
How to stop blaming yourself for your pain
This is a supportive, trauma-aware space facilitated by facilitators with migraine disorder and understand what it is like to live with pain and migraine. Sessions are online, accessible, and designed with migraine-friendly accommodations.

Through mindfulness practices tailored specifically for pain management, you will learn how to cultivate a deeper sense of calm amidst the storm of physical discomfort.

Course Format & Cost:
Interactive Lessons and Guided Practices: Engage in interactive lessons, guided practices, and experiential exercises designed to deepen your understanding and practice of mindfulness and PRT for pain relief.
Peer Support and Sharing Circles: Connect with a supportive community of others with migraine and headache disorders in a safe and compassionate environment. Share your experiences, insights, and challenges with others who understand what you're going through.
Personal Reflection and Journaling: Take time for personal reflection and journaling to integrate mindfulness into your daily life and track your progress on your journey towards pain relief and well-being.

Cost: Covered by OHIP for Ontario residents, with a referral from your family doctor or nurse practitioner. Please contact regarding pricing if you are out of Province.

Q: Do I need previous experience with mindfulness or PRT?
A: No. This program is beginner-friendly and all practices will be explained clearly and gently.
Q: What if I get a migraine or headache during a session?
A: We expect this might happen. The group is designed with accommodations for pain days-you're welcome to rest your eyes, lie down, turn your screen brightness down, or turn your screen off. You will still be included and supported.
Q: Will the sessions be recorded?
A: No, for privacy and confidentiality, and to ensure we create a safe, trauma-informed space, the classes will not be recorded.
Q: Is this a therapy group?
A: No, this is not group therapy. It is an educational and experiential program which has therapeutic aspects. It is facilitated by a trained, accredited coach and a medical doctor, both of whom have lived experience.
Q: Is this group for people with all types of chronic pain?
A: This group is focused on migraine and headache, pain that isn't due to active tissue damage. If you're unsure whether it's a fit, please reach out.
